Client-Centered Psychotherapy

Couples Counseling

Every relationship faces challenges, but when conflicts persist, it can create distance, frustration, or resentment. Couples therapy provides a safe and supportive space for partners to address concerns, strengthen their connection, and improve communication.

I help couples identify and address the deeper needs and feelings underlying conflict, guiding you toward healing. My approach is experiential and emotionally-focused, inspired by Hakomi and drawing on the work of folks like Sue Johnson and Marshall Rosenberg.

Common concerns addressed:

  • Communication breakdowns and conflict resolution

  • Emotional disconnection and intimacy issues

  • Trust rebuilding and infidelity recovery

  • Navigating cultural or religious differences in relationships

Trauma Recovery
Trauma Recovery

Trauma can leave a lasting impact on the mind and body, affecting daily life, relationships, and emotional well-being. Whether you have experienced a single distressing event or prolonged emotional wounds, therapy can help you regain a sense of control and resilience.

I specialize in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), an evidence-based model for processing traumatic memories and reducing their emotional intensity. I integrate mindfulness-based, somatic and relational approaches, to help you reconnect with your own sense of safety and strength.

Common concerns addressed:

  • PTSD and complex trauma

  • Childhood trauma and attachment wounds

  • Emotional or physical abuse recovery

  • Coping with past accidents, loss, or violence

Anxiety Management

Anxiety can feel overwhelming, manifesting as excessive worry, panic attacks, restlessness, or difficulty concentrating. If left unmanaged, it can impact your relationships, career, and overall well-being.

I work with clients to identify triggers and thought patterns that contribute to anxiety, using mindfulness, somatic therapy, and relational approaches to develop healthy coping mechanisms. Therapy is focused on getting to the deeper roots underlying your concerns, as well as reducing stress, improving emotional regulation, and restoring a sense of inner calm.

Common concerns addressed:

  • Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD)

  • Panic attacks and social anxiety

  • Work-related or academic stress

  • Fear of uncertainty and decision-making difficulties

Depression Treatment

Depression is more than just feeling down—it can affect your motivation, energy, and ability to enjoy life. It may be accompanied by feelings of hopelessness, irritability, or emotional numbness.

I offer a supportive, non-judgmental space to explore the underlying causes of depression, whether it stems from past experiences, unresolved emotions, or current life challenges. My approach integrates relational and mindfulness-based approaches to help clients rebuild their sense of purpose, self-worth, and connection.

Common concerns addressed:

  • Persistent sadness and low energy

  • Lack of motivation and difficulty enjoying life

  • Feelings of loneliness or isolation

  • Self-criticism and low self-esteem

Substance Use and Addiction Counseling

Addiction can take many forms, from substance use to compulsive behaviors. Whether you are struggling with dependency, engaging in self-destructive habits, or feeling out of control, therapy can help you regain stability and develop healthier coping strategies.

My approach is non-judgmental and supportive, focusing on understanding the root causes of addiction and fostering long-term recovery. Using trauma-informed, mindfulness-based and relational approaches, I help clients to foster increased self- compassion, build emotional resilience, and create meaningful lifestyle changes in line with their goals.

Common concerns addressed:

  • Alcohol and drug use concerns

  • Compulsive behaviors (e.g., gambling, internet addiction)

  • Emotional dependence and avoidance patterns

  • Relapse prevention and harm reduction strategies

Life Transitions and Grief Support

Life is full of transitions—some planned, others unexpected. Whether you are navigating a major move, career shift, relationship change, or the loss of a loved one, these experiences can bring emotional challenges.

I provide gentle, supportive guidance for clients adjusting to new realities, helping them process grief, uncertainty, and emotional upheaval. My approach integrates humanistic, relational and existential approaches, allowing clients to move forward with clarity and resilience.

Anger is a natural emotion, but when it feels uncontrollable or leads to negative outcomes, it can be overwhelming. Whether you're struggling with outbursts, frustration, or difficulty managing stress, therapy can help you understand the root causes of your anger and develop healthier ways to express and cope with it.

Together, we'll explore effective strategies to reduce impulsive reactions, build emotional awareness, and create lasting change in how you respond to challenging situations. Healing starts with recognizing that it's possible to regain control—and we're here to guide you every step of the way.

  • Difficulty controlling anger in stressful or triggering situations

  • Strained relationships and strategies for addressing underlying concerns

  • Issues such as past trauma or difficult interpersonal dynamics contributing to anger responses
